KUALA LUMPUR – Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has successfully defended his title as Pagoh MP.

The former prime minister managed to overcome opponents from Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) with a 10,007-vote majority.

Muhyiddin had previously held Pagoh for four terms, securing a win during the previous general election under a Bersatu ticket for the first time after being expelled from BN-linchpin Umno.

Other contestants for the federal constituency included BN’s Datuk Seri Razali Ibrahim and PH’s Iskandar Shah Abdul Rahman, who garnered 14,979 and 14,426 votes respectively.

The constituency saw a total of 206,744 registered voters. – The Vibes, November 19, 2022
